Elm School Extended School Year 2015

Elm School Extended School Year 2015

The focus this summer session was "Our Five Senses" with an emphasis on learning more about sound and exposure to learning more about "compensatory skills" needed for our children with hearing losses.  Big words! We looked at this from the approach of learning how we are all the same and also different from our hearing peers.  We also focused on special skills and tools that help us adapt better into our world!

We are learning more about our alphabet letters and sounds.  Each day we make word puzzles to sort , match and identify the letters that make our names!

We join other students here at Elm ESY for fun learning activities.  Alexander is making "pudding dirt cups" with older students in Room 119.
Language surrounds us everyday! Here are our pictures from our story extension of All Kinds of Faces.
Raven : "This is a HAPPY face."

Alexander: "This is a SCARED face."

Tatiana: "This is a SLEEPY face."

Ms. Kelley: "This is a SAD face."

Smartboards are cool!
